Jim Conlon was lead guitarist with Waterford's Royal Showband from their founding in Waterford right through to their residencies in Las Vegas. Over the years, he collected photos and press-cuttings from the band's years at the very top of the Irish showbands' scene. Here Jim share's some of his precious memories with visitors to the Irish Showbands & Beat-Groups Archive.

On a float St. Patrick's Day in Chicago where we were hosted by Mayor Richard Daly (the King maker) early '60s.  

Dunmore East, Co. Waterford as we waited for two small planes to land and take us to Belfast to record an album - A T.J. stunt (the planes could not land in the fog that came in from the ocean. Later, they landed in a field near Kilkenny where we boarded.
