The Rhythm Kings |
The Rhythm Kings were formed in 1958
originating in a local youth club. They began as a close harmony
group, barber-shop style and later became "electrified". They took
on a drummer called Harry Burns who is still working today. Spotted
by Harry Baxter, an agent based in Belfast, they met and became firm
friends with comedian Frank Carson. They toured with him as backup
band in a two-act show and were quite popular with the teens and
mums and dads alike. There are two surviving members, possibly three
as one went to Canada. (Thanks to Ronald Francis for
information, cuttings and photos © 2006) Do you have any
