Philosophers Christy Donnelly and Cyril Fullard played with The Galway Blazers. Jim Gunner came to Dave Glover from The Swingtime Aces.

Earl Gill's Dance Band was a training ground for many fine showband musicians. Jimmy Dumpleton (left), Seán Fagan (second left) and Sonny Knowles (third from right) went on to form The Pacific Showband. Jim Farley (third from left) formed his own band and Earl himself (centre) led The Hoedowners for many years.
