  Kelly (Del Shannon)
Recorded by Tony & The Graduates
1965 - King KG1014 / Sentimental Me
_____________________________________
Kelly and I meet secretly
We stay out of sight,
When we're in each others arms
We know it isn't right;

We are so in love
But he loves you too,
How can I tell my best friend
That I'm in love with you?

He's told me of your sweet caress
And of your lovely eyes,
Just how long can we go on
Telling him all these lies?

We are so in love
But he loves you too
How can I tell my best friend
That I'm in love with you

Oh, Kelly, please, please tell me
We gotta find a way,
Tell me what can I say
Oh, Kelly.

He's coming home tomorrow night
He's been gone so long
We could get away tonight
To run would be so wrong

We are so in love
But he loves you too
How can I tell my best friend
That I'm in love with you?

Oh, Kelly, please, please tell me
We gotta find a way
Tell me what can we say
Oh, Kelly
Oh, Kelly
Oh, Kelly

  Bye Bye Baby (Crewe/Gaudio)
Recorded by Mick Roche & The Arrows
______________________________________________________
Spoken intro: If you hate me after what I say
I can't put it off any longer
I just got to tell you anyway

Bye bye baby, baby goodbye (bye baby, baby bye bye)
Bye bye baby, don't make me cry (bye baby, baby bye bye)

You're the one girl in town I'd marry
Girl I'd marry you now if I were free
I wish it could be

I could love you, but why begin it
'Cause there ain't any future in it
She's got me and I'm not free so

Bye bye baby, baby goodbye (bye baby, baby bye bye)
Bye bye baby, don't make me cry (bye baby, baby bye bye)

Guess I never will know you better
Wish I knew you before I met her
Gee, how good you would be for me

Should have told you that I can't linger
There's a wedding band on my finger
She's got me and I'm not free so

Bye bye baby, baby goodbye (bye baby, baby bye bye)
Bye bye baby, don't make me cry (bye baby, baby bye bye)

  Every Step Of The Way
Recorded by Dickie Rock & The Miami Showband
1965 - Pye 7N15855 / Rock And Roll Music
_____________________________________________
We'll walk the road of life together day by day
And I will love you every step of the way;
The road may wind beneath the sky of blue or grey
And I will love you every step of the way.

So only love me and love me only
And we will never walk with loneliness;
For just as sure as every April turns to May
So will I love you every step of the way

Instrumental break

No we will never walk with loneliness;
For just as sure as every April turns to May
So will I love you every step of the way

(Originally recorded by Johnny Mathis)

  Winter Winds
Recorded by Michael Conn, Joe Doherty and The Millionaires
1966 - Pye 7N17208 / Chime Bells
____________________________________________________
The prairie is covered by a purple gown
As I ride through the hills today,
The summer is over and the nights are long
And we know that winter’s on its way.

The silence is broken by a dingo’s call
Way up in the mountains high,
Leisurely strumming on my old guitar
And the winter winds are blowing again.

When the winter winds are blowing from the west
And the pale moon rises o’er the mountain crest

I cover my pony with a rug of fur
Roll up in my blankets then,
The summer is over and the nights grow long
And the winter winds are blowing again.

  So Many Ways
Recorded by Butch Moore & The Capitol Showband
1965 - 7N15990 / Granada
____________________________________________
Your lips on mine are soft as dew,
Your kiss is so divine,
Your eyes are like the skies of blue
And stars that brightly shine
Your voice is sweet like violins,
And warm like summer days
And I love you, I love you, I love you
In oh so many, many ways.

Your touch is like a breath of spring,
You give life to my soul,
To me sweetheart you’re everything
I ever hoped to hold.
A smile from you lights up my heart
And lightens all my days,
And I love you, I love you, I love you
In oh so many, many ways.

If words could say how much I care,
My dear you’d be amazed,
And I love you, I love you, I love you
In oh so many, many ways.

  The Ballad of Amelia Earhart
Recorded by George Kaye & The Smokey Mountain Ramblers
1968 - DOS5 / Bile Them Cabbage Down
__________________________________________________________________
A ship out on the ocean, just a speck against the sky,
Amelia Earhart flying that sad day;
With her partner, Captain Noonan, on the second of July
Her ship fell in the ocean, far away.

About half an hour later her SOS was heard,
Her signals weak, but still her voice was brave.
In shark-infested waters her plane came down that night
In the blue Pacific Ocean far away.

There's a beautiful, beautiful field
Far away in a land that is fair.
Happy landings to you, Amelia Earhart,
Farewell, first lady of the air.

Now you have heard my story of that awful tragedy,
We prayed that she'd fly home safe again.
And in years to come, when others blaze a trail across the sea,
Well ne'er forget Amelia and her plane.

Theres a beautiful, beautiful field . . .

(Originally recorded by Kinky Friedman as Amelia Earhart's Last Flight)
